1. Policy Statement

At Extravagant Tours, the health, safety, and wellbeing of our clients, employees, partners, and the communities we interact with are of paramount importance. We are committed to providing safe, enjoyable, and professionally managed tours and experiences, while promoting best practices in health and safety throughout all aspects of our operations.


2. Objectives

To prevent accidents, injuries, and illness during all tour-related activities.

To provide adequate health and safety training and information to our staff and tour participants.

To comply with all applicable health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations of Trinidad and Tobago and all destinations where our tours operate.

To continuously evaluate and improve our safety procedures and risk mitigation strategies.


3. Responsibilities

Management (Extravagant Tours Ltd):

Ensures compliance with this policy across all tours and activities.

Conducts regular risk assessments and safety audits.

Provides safety training and emergency response procedures to staff and partners.

Ensures all equipment (e.g. vehicles, life jackets, first aid kits) is regularly maintained and fit for use.

Staff, Guides, and Contractors:

Must follow all safety procedures and report hazards or incidents immediately.

Must hold current certification in basic First Aid and CPR.

Are trained to handle medical emergencies, manage group safety, and provide clear safety briefings to guests.

Must monitor guest behavior and environmental conditions to prevent risk or harm.

Tour Participants (Clients):

Must follow instructions provided by guides or staff at all times.

Must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or mobility limitations during booking or prior to tour departure.

Are encouraged to carry personal medications (e.g. inhalers, EpiPens) and inform guides of their use.


4. COVID-19 & Communicable Disease Protocols (if applicable)

Sanitization of vehicles, gear, and shared items before each tour.

Hand sanitizer available for guests and staff throughout the experience.

Mask-wearing and distancing in enclosed spaces as required by national health guidelines.

Guests showing flu-like symptoms may be denied participation and offered rebooking options.


5. Emergency Procedures

All tour guides and relevant staff are trained in:

Emergency evacuation procedures

Basic first aid and CPR

Contacting emergency services (ambulance, coast guard, fire, etc.)

Crisis communication and incident reporting

All tours will have:

A fully stocked First Aid Kit

A communication device (radio or mobile phone with backup battery)

Access to emergency contact lists for local medical centers, law enforcement, and support staff


6. Transportation & Equipment Safety

All transportation providers used by Extravagant Tours must have valid licenses and insurance.

All vehicles are maintained and inspected regularly.

All water-based activities will include the use of Coast Guard-approved life vests and supervised boarding procedures.


7. Environmental & Site Safety

Tours are planned with regard to weather conditions, terrain difficulty, and environmental risks.

Guides will modify or cancel activities in unsafe conditions (e.g., floods, landslides, high seas).

Clients are advised on appropriate gear (e.g., water shoes, insect repellent, sunblock) prior to tour departure.


8. Continuous Improvement

We will review and update this policy annually or in response to emerging risks.

Feedback from clients and staff will be used to improve our safety practices.

Any incidents or near misses are investigated and recorded with action plans developed as needed.
