6:00 AM – Pathway Through Nature

The tour begins with a scenic drive from your pickup point in Port of Spain—whether a secure parking facility or your hotel—heading eastward along the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway. As the cityscape fades, lush greenery and rural charm take over. Along the way, your guide shares fascinating insights into Trinidad’s history and landscapes. After a relaxing journey, you’ll arrive at Nariva Swamp’s edge, where your adventure to Bush Bush begins.

7:30 AM – Glide Through Nariva

Guests will board a flat-bottomed boat and glide peacefully along the main channel of the Nariva Swamp, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of nature. Along the way, they’ll witness the three distinct types of mangroves—red, black, and white—each playing a vital ecological role. Keen eyes will spot colourful crabs, schools of fish, and a variety of wetland birds. This serene ride culminates at the Bush Bush Forest Reserve, where the real jungle exploration begins.

8:00 AM – Wildlife Encounter Trail

Upon arriving at the Bush Bush Forest Reserve, guests will be welcomed by expert guides who lead a captivating journey through one of Trinidad’s most vibrant and untouched ecosystems. As you navigate winding trails beneath the forest canopy, learn about the unique interdependence of the plants and animals that thrive here. Encounter rare wildlife such as monkeys, macaws, and reptiles, and marvel at towering trees, medicinal plants, and hidden forest wonders.

8:45 AM – Legacy of Science

As guests venture into the forest trail, they’ll journey deeper into the Bush Bush Forest Reserve. Hidden among the towering trees lies a historic wooden structure—an old house believed to have been used in the 1960s by early European doctors and researchers studying tropical diseases like yellow fever. Surrounded by nature, this silent relic offers a glimpse into a forgotten era of scientific exploration. 

9:30 AM – Bush Bush to Brunch

After exploring the rich ecosystem of the Bush Bush Forest Reserve, guests will return along the tranquil Nariva Swamp on a peaceful boat ride. As the boat glides through the serene waters, surrounded by nature’s beauty, this leisurely journey offers the perfect opportunity to relax, reflect, and enjoy the stunning views. Upon returning to base, guests will be welcomed with a well-deserved brunch featuring a selection of local delicacies and refreshing beverages.

10:30 AM – D-Man’s Snowcone Break

12:00 PM – Reflection of the Wild

As the day’s exploration comes to an end, guests will board their transportation for a relaxed journey back to Port of Spain. Reflecting on the wonders of the Bush Bush Forest Reserve and brunch among the mangroves, the scenic drive offers a peaceful close to the adventure. Entry into the city is marked by the majestic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception—an iconic heritage site that welcomes guests back with historic grace.
